How Do I Know If My Porsche Is A Lemon?
Your Porsche is probably a lemon if during the first 18,000 miles or first 18 months, any of the following occurred:
- Substantial Safety Issue – Dealer attempted two (2) or more times to fix the same issue that can cause serious bodily injury or death; OR
- Non-substantial safety issue – Dealer attempted four (4) or more times to fix the same issue; OR
- Your car was out for a total of more than 30 days for any repair.
- Manufactured between 2017-2022
- Within the original manufacturer’s warranty
What Happens Next if My Porsche Is A Lemon?
If your Porsche is a Lemon, there may be several options with its own benefits.
One of the most common option is a buyback. When the Manufacturer repurchases your vehicle, they will compensate you for your payments (including down payment and monthly payments), registration, and certain damages. Your Porsche is now officially a lemon law buyback!
Another option is a recall. This is when the manufacturer notifies all vehicle owners of a defect that needs to be fixed. The difference is that not all lemons are recalled. They can go through buy back. However, if your lemon was recalled, you can receive compensation for your damages.
What If My Porsche Doesn’t Meet These Requirements?
Even if your Porsche cannot meet the above requirements, you may still have a valid lemon law claim against Porsche. Many of Porsche owners bear the burden of driving a defective Porsche simply because they are not fully aware of their rights and assume they don’t have a valid lemon law claim on their Porsche. The manufacturer can buyback your lemon or give you compensation for the time the car was defective and allow you to cash and keep your lemon. Additionally, manufacturers may send out a recall for certain models if there is a major security issue that needs to be fixed or replaced. Whichever road you take, our Engineering knowledge combined with legal knowledge of lemon law can bridge that gap for you, protecting you against your defective Porsche.
